About CINC Systems
CINC Systems builds software that helps community association management companies run their business more efficiently — from accounting and financial operations to communication with boards and residents. As our own company grows, our internal Finance & Accounting team plays a critical role in keeping the business on solid financial footing while supporting a fast-moving SaaS organization.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant plays a central role in the monthly close, with an emphasis on account reconciliations and the analysis that supports them. This person owns a broad set of balance sheet reconciliations — cash, sales tax, prepaids, accrued liabilities, fixed and intangible assets, and leases — and helps maintain the supporting schedules behind them. The role calls for someone who enjoys researching open items, digging into discrepancies, and driving them to resolution. We're looking for a self-starter who takes initiative, works independently, and is comfortable owning an issue from start to finish. This role partners closely with the Assistant Controller and works cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales, and the broader accounting team to strengthen internal controls and improve close efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare assigned FloQast balance sheet reconciliations (cash, prepaids, accrued liabilities, fixed and intangible assets, leases) across multiple legal entities.
- Prepare daily cash reconciliations across operating bank accounts.
- Perform other month-end close tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned.
- Own monthly sales tax reconciliations, tying Avalara to the NetSuite general ledger across all entities, and support sales tax filings and respond to state notices.
- Track state nexus exposure and flag new filing requirements as the company expands into new states.
- Own the monthly expense accrual: build the accrual for known expenses, review the AP accrual listing for completeness and accuracy, and follow reversals through to clearing.
- Run vendor- and department-level variance analysis on expenses against the prior month and budget, and explain variances to the Assistant Controller and FP&A.
- Support customer billing: invoice preparation and review, billing adjustments, and credit memos; set up and maintain customer billing accounts, and update billing rates for upsells and account changes.
- Generate and issue monthly invoices to external banking partners for enterprise and managed dealer services programs.
- Review Ramp credit card transactions and reimbursement coding, syncing approved transactions to NetSuite and posting payments to the general ledger.
- Identify and resolve duplicate reimbursement requests, coordinating repayment with employees as needed.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed, reviewing receipt and GL/department coding on corporate card charges and reconciling corporate card activity to the general ledger monthly across all entities.
- Prepare lease accounting entries.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and related journal entries between affiliated entities.
- Cross-train with other accounting team members on accounts payable, capital expenditures, payroll, and tax processes to build team-wide coverage.
- Support the annual financial statement audit as needed, preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
