Job Description

This position is responsible for collecting bagged trash/broken down boxes from the doors of residents, transport in provided trash trailer to haul and transport to on-site compactor. You will not have to take trash off the property. At least one (1) weekend day work is required. A great workout and pay. Additional responsibilities for this full-time position would include focusing on the property appearance and care of amenity areas for our community residents, including the pool/spa, gazebos, docks, and the tennis courts and playground (when not under construction). Inspects work performed in assigned building/property(s) and submits reports to the Supervisor. Positions may be indoors to maintain the interior of the community, outdoors to maintain the exterior, or a mixture of both.



The Valet Trash & Grounds Porter also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle Group. He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service as it relates to this function. This includes working interdepartmentally, as well as, with our external customers.



(May include some or all of the following as applicable)

  • Complete Valet Trash Removal for Residents 3 times per week at set schedule.
  • Maintain green spaces and common areas, use insecticides, fertilizers and herbicides as needed, weed, prune trees & shrubs, as needed.
  • Pick up refuse on lawns, in hallways, stairwells and garage areas each day.
  • Walk the docks to remove debris, trash, and assist residents with their boats, as needed.
  • Clean, dust, and wipe down high touch areas in the common areas.
  • Clean and prepare the pool/spa area, as needed.
  • Performs a variety of cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacing light bulbs and window cleaning.
  • Maintains all cleaning solutions in accordance to OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.
  • Removes trash from premises and assists in emergency cleaning.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas and assigned equipment in good working condition.
  • Minor painting of walls, doorways and curbs.
  • Pressure wash walkways, buildings and other property using power washing equipment.
  • Ensures that security procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Maintains professional working relationship with building staff.
  • Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
  • Ensures all safety precautions and procedures are followed while performing duties in accordance with OSHA.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.



Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses:

High school diploma or equivalency preferred.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

Previous custodial experience preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures.

Computer literacy:

Basic command of computer hardware/software is required.

Language requirements:

Multiple language fluency is desirable.

Travel and availability requirements:

May be required to travel for training sessions off-site on an ad-hoc basis.

Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on project requirement. Ability to respond to emergencies and callouts in a timely manner.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time. Crawl in small and tight spaces. Ability to climb 3 flights of stairs, several times a day.

Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain). Reach with hands and arms. Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word.

Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions; complete all required forms.

Working Conditions:

The work will be completed both indoors and outdoors in a non-temperature controlled environment with little to moderate noise levels.
