The Temporary Porter will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our community's common areas and facilities. This position requires a proactive and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a variety of maintenance tasks efficiently.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Janitorial Duties

  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation of common areas, including lobbies, hallways, fitness centers, and restrooms.
  • Clean, disinfect patio furniture, BBQ area and Gazebo area.
  • Empty trash bins and replace liners as needed.
  • Dust high and low areas, remove spider webs from benches and mailboxes.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Wipe and disinfect common area surfaces in lodge.
  • Clean windows on doors, mirrors, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness in outdoor spaces, such as parking lots and walkways.
  • Keep track of cleaning supplies and notify the Administrative Assistant/Property Services Coordinator when reordering is necessary.
  • Restock dog stations.

Maintenance And Repairs

  • Conduct routine inspections of common areas and report any maintenance issues to the Property Services Coordinator.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, and repairing doors or locks.
  • Assist with landscaping maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal.
  • Conduct regular inspections of fire safety equipment and report any concerns.
  • Check propane tanks and ensure they are full.

Handyman Services

  • Handle minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs as needed.
  • Assist residents with maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain records of completed maintenance and repair work.

Emergency Response

  • Be available for emergency maintenance calls and respond promptly to resolve urgent issues.
  • Collaborate with emergency service providers (plumbers, electricians, etc.) as necessary.

Communication

  • Maintain open and clear communication with the General Manager and residents.
  • Provide updates on ongoing maintenance tasks and projects.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in janitorial and maintenance work.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Basic organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Certifications and Licenses: (Upon Hire)

First Aid

CPR Certified

AED

Minimum Education

  • High school diploma or its equivalent

Availability

Regular business hours and overtime as needed.

Work Environment
