The Public Records team takes a lead role in data accuracy for criminal and civil court data displayed on AppFolio screening reports. Ideal candidates are curious, solution-driven, and possess a passion for detail, criminal justice and serving applicants who are looking for a new home.

What You'll Do

  • Manage & mentor Public Records Analysts on the team to identify growth areas, set clear performance expectations, remove barriers to success, and support the development of new skills and expertise.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant laws and regulations related to the background screening industry and AppFolio's screening business.
  • Own escalated or high-risk cases with consumers and property managers through to resolution.
  • Maintains productive internal working relationships within Screening Operations to broaden the knowledge base and ensure smooth dispute processes.
  • Participate as a critical stakeholder in drafting new or existing policies & procedures and implement them with the team.
  • Uncover actionable insights that improve the quality and efficiency of Public Records team operations, simplify procedures, and improve processes & procedures.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of personally identifiable information.
  • Oversee the training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Manage daily PRA workflow to achieve annual and quarterly key results from OKRs. Execute and recommend controls and reviews to ensure the achievement of OKRs.
  • Responsible for timely execution of audits, PRA adherence to policies & procedures, report creation, and documentation.
  • Drive team engagement to motivate, inspire and connect all Public Records team members.

  • Accountability/Ownership - Assumes responsibility for accomplishing work objectives, delivering results, and setting high-performance standards for yourself and others.
  • Time Management - Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
  • Levelheaded - Maintains steady performance when under stress and pressure. Brings a calm presence to emotionally charged situations.
  • Adaptable - Easily adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions in a highly regulated environment.

Must-Haves

  • 1+ years related professional experience in public records, court research, criminal justice, or similar
  • 2+ years of SalesForce-related experience
  • Aptitude to learn new software and new processes as needed
  • Ability to navigate public record court searches
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Passion for research and an interest in criminal records

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary wage that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $65,000-$97,000

The actual base salary/hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.

Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
