Mission:

The mission of the Staff Product Manager is to drive needle-moving revenue for one of AppFolio’s fastest growing businesses by identifying and executing on new opportunities to serve property managers, renters and other customers in AppFolio’s ecosystem. This is a high visibility role where you will take full ownership of complicated and ambiguous B2B and B2C problems at the intersection of SaaS, e-commerce and fintech. You will be a key contributor to our broader product strategy and provide leadership and mentorship across our rapidly growing product team.

What You’ll Do:

• Own the strategy, launch and development of innovative fintech products by developing a vision, rapidly de-risking assumptions, and thinking critically about both customer value and business viability.
• Solve a diverse range of product challenges for the customers in the AppFolio ecosystem, including property managers, renters, owners, etc. We’re smack at the intersection of B2B SaaS, B2C e-commerce and fintech.
• Evangelize your vision and maintain stakeholder alignment with Executives and other leaders across our organization.
• Operate at multiple altitudes and time horizons, taking ownership for the details of day-to-day execution while also working backwards from your big picture, 3+ year goals.
• Drive build vs. buy vs. partner decisions, taking into account a wide range of customer and business needs.
• Contribute to the development of a world-class product team by providing leadership and mentorship to other product managers.
• Collaborate with an agile development team of engineers, designers, and data scientists to develop testable hypotheses and iterate rapidly in the face of uncertainty.
• Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders in legal, customer service, sales, and marketing, as well as external partners.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of software product management experience, with a demonstrated track record of both launching successful products and pulling the plug on bets that didn’t pan out
• Prior experience with B2B SaaS, fintech, and 2-sided marketplaces is highly desired
• Ability to launch and grow new products from scratch. You’ve tackled 0 to 1 and 1 to 10 product challenges and have developed the necessary toolkit for each
• Experience making build vs. buy vs. partner decisions
• Experience collaborating closely with an agile product development team
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to zoom in and out of details in order to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience

Compensation & Benefits:

The base salary that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $155,000-$230,000

The actual base salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.

Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
