Action Property Management is an established and growing homeowners' association management company with a goal of attracting, retaining and developing the best talent. Action is seeking a Full-Time Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team in Irvine.

 

Compensation: $25 - $35 per hour

 

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Summary:

 

The position is responsible for supporting the Director of Accounting/Controller with various aspects of the corporate accounting functions for three related entities. Prepares periodic financial reports and conducts requested analysis for Corporate Accounting under the direction of the Controller. Maintains a coherent system of accounting records and complies with the established internal controls designed to manage risk and ensure the accuracy of financial results. Effectively interacts and communicates with individuals responsible for corporate accounting functions, vendors, as well as senior and executive management.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Apply consistent accounting principles and procedures to record and analyze financial information.
  • Analyze, reconcile and prepare journal entries for accrual basis general ledger.
  • Prepare and process monthly client billing.
  • Reconciliation of company benefits
  • Manage vendor contracts & business licenses.
  • Oversee annual insurance renewals and certificate requirements.
  • Tax filings for multiple states inclusive of sales tax, personal property tax, & gross receipts tax
  • Assist with annual financial audits.
  • Create new processes to improve financial efficiency.
  • Special projects as needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 5 years previous experience in accounting, preferably property management
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with accounting programs and a strong knowledge of Excel
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; detail-oriented; self-motivated; ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and team player
