In this role you would be directly helping those in need of housing by designing solutions that assist the property manager to engage with Affordable Housing programs.

Team Mission

To develop products that support state and federal Affordable Housing programs, which will help people find housing and help AppFolio serve a greater customer base. Our engineers work best when collaborating with UX designers, product managers, and directly with customers. We adhere to latest best practices both in-house and in industry, towards supporting a first-class Affordable Housing product. We do this by using proactive, simple, incremental solutions. When navigating the complex space of Affordable Housing, we default to simplifying ideas and requirements as much as possible for our customers.

What You’ll Do

• Create features using Ruby on Rails and JavaScript (prior knowledge not required)
• Be part of a team that’s creating innovative Affordable Housing software
• Create methods of capturing Affordable Housing information and serving it up in a maintainable, performant and compliant manner
• Make decisions about technical architecture that will serve as a model for future development
• Integrate with state and federal systems to ensure proper reporting of Affordable Housing data
• Become a go-to expert for questions and assistance with our our Affordable offerings
• Promote good engineering practices and design patterns through talks, training materials, and hands on coaching
