What You’ll Do

The Sr. Director of Partnerships - Payments, Screening, and Insurance role will lead the Partner Management and Business Development functions for our largest value added financial services across Payments, Screening, and Insurance capabilities. This leader manages a team of experienced partnership managers and has direct responsibility for managing all third-party relationships and spend with a goal of continually improving net revenue across all Value Added Financial Services businesses.

  • Build and lead a high performing Payments, Screening, and Insurance Partnerships team
  • Build a durable payments partner strategy that scales with AppFolio growth
  • Manage current partnerships and onboard new partners as required to execute and optimize AppFolio’s Payments, Screening, and Insurance strategies.
  • Be a subject matter expert and go-to for the organization when it comes to our current partnerships function
  • Contribute to team revenue and cost goals by optimizing functionality and costs across all 3rd-party partnerships

  • Communication and motivation: Authentic and transparent communicator in both formal and informal settings. Applies exceptional presentation skills. Distills complex data and information into simple concepts & compelling stories, inspiring and motivating teams around a mission.

Must-Haves

  • Demonstrated track record of setting up, negotiating, and managing large third-party partnerships (>$50M annual third-party spend preferred)
  • Strategic thinker and detail oriented problem solver that is highly self-motivated with bias for action.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and experience navigating and influencing in a matrixed organization without direct authority.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to dive into the details to understand business implications and define actions and recommendations and drive alignment and execution across business stakeholders.
  • Solution-oriented mindset focused on right-sized ways to solve problems with a long-term strategic outlook.
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex issues into simple, actionable recommendations.
  • People leadership experience building and managing a high-performing team of specialists.
  • 15+ years of experience in partnership management, with consulting, strategy, product management, or program management roles to complement this experience.
  • Demonstrated success working in an agile environment on multiple projects.
  • Experience and familiarity with Product Management, Payment, Screening, or Insurance Systems, FinTech companies, and Enterprise Risk and Compliance programs is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or equivalent experience is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary/hourly wage that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $200,000 - $300,000

The actual base salary/hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.

Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
