Job Responsibilities
FirstService Residential. is currently seeking a new Sr. Network Engineer that supports both our corporate enterprise infrastructure and internal customer-facing projects. This position reports to the Director of I.T. Infrastructure and will be a contributing member of the infrastructure team. Team collaboration, problem-solving, and learning capabilities are a must.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of existing network and/or security hardware and software in use to provide third-tier technical and administrative support and provide complex internal analysis and support of the network and/or security infrastructure.
- Acts as the technical interface with vendors and other external stakeholders and reviews/make recommendations on the network and/or security service/maintenance arrangements.
- Review technical documentation of supported environments to ensure that documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Install and configure WAN and LAN hardware to include voice, video, and data cable systems. Develops system specifications, architecture designs, integration and test plans, and all relevant documentation.
- Develops risk management and mitigation strategy. Maintain compliance with QA standards and ensure service performance indicators are met or exceeded.
- Works individually and actively participates on integrated teams to support the internal customer's deployable networks supporting multiple mission partners at multiple locations
- Requires minimal guidance and direction from more senior-level technicians, specialists, and managers. Guides lower-level technicians and specialists.
- Understands and applies more advanced concepts and processes to daily activities. Assists junior-level technicians and managers in their activities. Can perform all tasks of lower-level technicians or specialists.
- Analyzes, designs, develops, and/or maintains hardware and software needed for network communications, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the internet, intranets, and other data communication systems.
- Communicates complex concepts and data effectively and creatively (both written and oral) across multiple organizations, both internal & external.
- Performs design, engineering, implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of the local area networks (LAN)s and/or wide area network (WAN), and/or security infrastructure.
- Network design, engineering, and implementation (Advanced Level)
- Review of network-related Bill of Material (BOM) equipment lists and costs.
- Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field or equivalent experience
- CCNP Preferred
- 8+ years experience working as a Network Engineer
- Proficient is MS Office suite -- Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Technical experience in Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniques
- Experience with CISCO, Meraki, and Juniper network solutions
- Experience with Network Management tools (Solar Winds Network Management, LiveAction, NetBox, etc.)
- Experience with CheckPoint, Cisco ASAs, and Fortinet/Firewalls
- Experience with Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM, CUC, CCX)
- Experience with supporting IP services
- (IPv4, VPN, IPv6, Multicast, QOS, SDN, SNMP, VOIP, VTC, etc)
- Experience with IPSec, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
- Possesses knowledge of most common network components, including routers, switches, firewalls, protocols, Cisco VoIP, DNS, remote access, VPN, routing, and switching. Also has knowledge of TCP/IP routing technologies, including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP, in addition to knowledge of applicable business lines/industries.
- Ability to estimate labor needed to complete planning, engineering, and procurement.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment
- Ability to work full-time remote in South Florida (Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach). Some onsite might be required.
Travel
- Some travel to North American sites to support deployments, installations, and maintenance activities.
