Job Description

The Senior Financial Accounting Specialist (FASP) is an accounting support position in a fast-paced centralized accounting services environment providing financial services to community associations throughout Colorado. As the Senior FASP, you will be the expert the other FASP’s can lean on for guidance as well as be a client-facing accounting liaison to support the community manager.

Job Responsibilitiesinclude the following and will be based on the candidates availability:

  • Applies principles of accounting to prepare timely and accurate financial statements
  • Identity, research, resolve and communicate accounting, auditing and operational issues
  • Oversee the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, payroll transactions, accounts payable and general ledger adjustments
  • Provides technical and financial advice and knowledge to others to include property managers and board members
  • Help be a mentor for the accounting team
  • Help the CAM/ACAM and FASP’s navigate the Shared Service Center
  • Review and reconcile past-due outstanding receipts
  • Process and track credit memos through completion
  • Oversee the AP process
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Three (3) years previous general ledger accounting and financial reporting experience is required, preferably in the property management industry
  • Must have knowledge and proficiency of Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, and Cost Control Principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Experience working with Auditors
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) at a proficient level
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports
  • Must be very detail oriented, possess excellent follow through, and have the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Excellent time management skills
