The Senior Director of Talent Acquisition will be a key driver of AppFolio’s growth, leading from the front with a strategic, data-driven approach to talent acquisition that fuels business success. In this role, you'll work closely with senior leadership to deeply understand business needs, ensure efficient, high-impact hiring processes, and cultivate strong advocacy for Talent Acquisition throughout the organization.

 

As a core member of the People Leadership team, you will own high-priority senior leader and executive requisitions, empower hiring managers, and build a high-performing team known for delivering excellence.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the Talent Acquisition team in executing proactive talent strategies that attract and retain top talent, both internally and externally, across the company.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to assess both short-term and long-term talent needs, ensuring strategies and resources are aligned to meet hiring goals effectively.
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners to develop a cohesive approach to workforce planning, aligning hiring plans with organizational needs.
  • Champion a high-touch, scalable hiring process that supports an exceptional candidate experience while enabling managers to make informed hiring decisions.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization, specifically with the Executive Team, empowering hiring managers and creating advocates for Talent Acquisition at all levels.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Marketing to design and implement an effective recruitment marketing strategy.
  • Own the recruitment process for high-priority senior leader and executive requisitions, delivering top talent for key leadership roles.
  • Continuously improve talent assessment and interviewing processes, implementing necessary training and best practices to enhance the overall hiring experience.
  • Develop and refine talent acquisition metrics (KPIs) to assess effectiveness, making data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
  • Be an active member of the People Leadership team, contributing to broader talent strategy discussions and driving workforce planning in partnership with department leaders.

Must have

  • 10+ years of recruiting experience.
  • 5+ years of TA leadership experience in rapid-paced work environments and have led both recruiters and TA Ops and Enablement.
  • 2+ years of experience either as an Executive Recruiter or leading an Executive Recruiting team.
  • Experience in Engineering, Product/UX, GTM, HR.
  • A demonstrated track record of building high-performing recruiting teams.
  • Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $216,000 - $270,000.

The actual base salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.

 

Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
