Job Description

As a Senior Accounting Specialist at Associa Gulf Coast, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our property management branch office. You will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, from overseeing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records to assisting with financial analysis and reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and highly skilled accounting professional to contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Manage and maintain the general ledger for the branch office, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, reconcile accounts, and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for review by management.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development ant monitoring of the ranch office’s budget, as well as contribute to financial forecasting.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and analyze expense, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including the timely submission of tax returns.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support informed decision-making by branch management.
  • Audits: Assist with internal and external audits, maintaining all necessary documentation and records.
  • Vendor and Client Relations: Interact with vendors, clients, residents and internal teams to address financial inquiries and resolve any financial issues or discrepancies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, GAAP.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of property management accounting software is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Branch Headquarters office, climate controlled.
  • Occasional travel to communities, as needed.

Compensation:

  • Compensation will be evaluated based on candidates’ skills and relevant experience.
  • Starting salary is $60,000.00 annually.
