Responsibilities
RealManage is rapidly growing and has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to join our Post Merger Integration (PMI) team in supporting the corporate accounting integration of acquired property management companies. You will be assisting in the process of working with the acquired company personnel to properly account for all business activity using our internally developed world-class and industry leading accounting and property management software.
The Senior Accountant, Post-Merger Integration, position is responsible for the implementation of the use of RealManage corporate accounting, cash management, financial reporting and financial management policies and procedures by acquired management company accounting departments. This position will interface with the acquired management company staff, third-party service providers and internal RealManage departments on financial matters. This is a "hands-on" position from an accounting perspective.
Responsibilities include
- Obtain an extensive understanding of an acquired management company’s corporate accounting policies and procedures
- Assist the acquired company personnel in changing their policies and procedures where necessary to align with RealManage corporate accounting policies and procedures, including the areas of billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Act as a liaison between the acquired company’s corporate accounting staff and RealManage corporate accounting staff, addressing all issues that may arise
- Identify client billing for services performed outside the current service level agreement and audit the acquired company’s corporate billing process to confirm or implement contractual and standard billing processes.
- Track the status of all acquired service level contracts and monthly report any terminations or conversions (contract renewals or extensions made using the RealManage contract format)
- Monitor the addition of any new clients and include in the monthly contract status reporting
- Review the newly established monthly RealManage corporate billings for the acquired companies for accuracy
- Monitor and work to resolve any issues with the collection of pre-acquisition accounts receivable balances
- Trouble-shoot and resolve any escalated financial related issues in a collaborative manner and in coordination with stakeholders
- Create and maintain the profitability spreadsheet, updating monthly
- Document RealManage corporate accounting policies and procedures in a format that can be easily understood by both accounting and non-accounting personnel
- Plus any other work related tasks assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Accounting degree from a 4-year accredited college / university
- 5 years minimum experience in a senior level accounting role
- Real estate or property management industry experience strongly preferred
- Hands on experience with a mid to upper tier accounting software package
- Demonstrated experience with a computer system conversion
- Exceptional computer skills (power user)
- CPA / graduate degree a plus
- Excellent grasp of basic accounting theory and methods of accounting (accrual, cash and modified cash)
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong interpersonal/communication (written and verbal) skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, challenging, high change/growth environment
Compensation
Commensurate with experience
$50,000 to $65,000 BOE
