POSITION PURPOSE:
To provide MMS clients with the most accurate and timely financial analysis thereby increasing the overall profitability. Maintain timely lines of communication between internal and external contacts.
SCOPE
Position encompasses a broad span of MAY Management’s resources to achieve a very high level of client satisfaction with financial analysis. Deliver timely and accurate financial reports to General Manager, Association Board, and Finance Committees. May be called upon to meet with Board and Finance Committee to explain analysis. Will attend Finance Committee meetings on a monthly basis and prepare meeting materials a week ahead of each scheduled meeting. Common sense, being proactive and working quickly and efficiently are key elements of success. Failure to provide service levels acceptable to the Association may result in loss of client, loss of revenue to MAY Management and may adversely affect the reputation of MAY Management.
Principal Responsibilities And Accountability
Prepare an operational budget working with the Treasurer, the Board of Directors and General Manager
Calculate operational cash flow to ensure minimum contingency cash reserves are maintained. Update projected cash flow throughout the year as needed
Maintain Excel based models including Budget and Reserve models
Create custom financial reports utilizing Microsoft Office or equivalent software
On an ongoing basis, track actual results vs the budget and prepare detailed and summary variance analysis for the Finance Committee and Board
Create, maintain and update capital project list, reconcile to the Reserve model
Model project cash liquidity needs to be incorporated into reserve investment decisions
Attend Finance Committee meetings, prepare minutes and maintain action items
Maintain summary of POA insurance policies
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Formal education:
BA in Accounting, Business, Economics, Management, or equivalent work experience
Practical experience:
Minimum Three (3) Years Work Experience
Knowledge of financial software applications
Excellent Excel/Microsoft Office Skills
Personal characteristics
Maintains high standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
Well organized and ability to prioritize
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Pro active – able to assess situations quickly and take appropriate action
Able to work quickly and efficiently; manage a heavy workload
Able to work independently with little supervision
Ability to handle difficult situations tactfully
