Job Responsibilities

 

Security Area Specialists ensures the highest possible level of service is being offered to residents, guests, and service providers. Security is responsible for meeting, greeting, and registering guests and residents, as well as maintaining the safety of the property. Security accurately maintains daily logs, records, and forms. They must be able to understand and react to emergency situations and operate electronic security control systems. Security reports to the Security Supervisor.

 

Full Time - (Open Flexibility - AM, Afternoon. Overnight availability)

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service, communication, and time management skill
  • Monitors and operates Electronic Security Control Systems and Emergency Response System
  • Responds to emergency situations in a timely manner.
  • Monitors and controls access to the building.
  • Accurately maintains daily logs, records and form
  • Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the building/property.
  • Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
  • Works shifts that are subject to change based on property nee
  • Needs to read and understand the FirstService Residential Employee
  • Handbook/Security Standard Operating Procedure
  • Assists in vacation, sick time, leave of absence, and emergency callouts.
  • Assigned to a specific region.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service, communication and time management skills.
  • Adheres to company policy in all assigned properties.
  • Needs to have reliable form of transportation and mobile communication.
  • While on duty must be in Company approved attire and/or uniform, and follow the Company dress code and policy
  • When on assignment, keeps work area clean.
  • Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment. Any safety issues must be brought to the attention of the Property Manager immediately.
  • Responsible for checking the Fire Alarm panel to ensure that it is in normal Status.
  • Reports any indicated troubles in writing to the Property Manager immediately.
  • Required learn and follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g. Evacuations, medical emergencies and natural disasters)
  • Prepare and review written documents. (e.g., daily logs, inspections, reports).
  • Responds to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reports all complaints/issues to Security Coordinator
  • On call 24/7 for emergencies and call outs assigned by Security Coordinator
  • Supervisor including, but not limited to weekends and Holidays.
  • Responsible for checking the Fire Alarm panel to ensure that it is in normal Status. Reports any indicated troubles in writing to the Property Manager immediately.
  • Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g. Evacuations, medical emergencies and natural disasters)
  • Maintains awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
  • Patrol property as required and report all issues of concern.
  • Utilize radio communications IAW property guideline.
  • Prepare and review written documents. (e.g., daily logs, inspections, reports)
  • Exchange information with other employees using two-way radio or control base radio.
  • Responds to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reports all complaints/issues to The Director of Operations.
  • On call 24/7 for emergencies and call outs assigned by Director of Security. Including, but not limited to weekends and Holidays.
  • May be assigned other duties, responsibilities as required.

 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards and values
  • May be assigned other duties, responsibilities as required.
  • Assist with Receiving Department shifts as needed.
  • Assist with Front Desk shifts as needed.
  • Needs to read and understand the First Service Residential Employee Handbook/Front Desk General Reference Guide.
  • Provide administrative support as needed

Education & Experience

 

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Valid Florida Security License "D"

 

Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

 

  • Proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication and Interpersonal skills required.

 

Physical Requirements / Working Environment

 

  • Ability to lift 30 – 50 lbs;
  • Work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods of time;
  • Handle, finger, grasp and lift objects and packages;
  • Reach with hands and arms; Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word;
  • Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions;
  • Complete all required forms.
  • Possess knowledge of multi-building operations. Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on project requirement.
  • Driving is required.

 

Travel

 

Work involves driving to assigned properties, as needed.
