Job Description

The Recreation Director will oversee the activities and events of an HOA community. Daily responsibilities include interacting with homeowners and residents; researching, planning, coordinating and scheduling events; maintaining the event calendar; following up with vendors.

This is a part time position, 25 hours a week.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee recreation events to ensure that they meet specific goals, guests’ interests and needs and corporate philosophies.
  • Develop, plan, and implement enjoyable programs and activities for guests to promote fitness, wellness, and enrichment.
  • Keep records to improve future event planning, documenting guest reception and participation.
  • Manage and update the resident Google calendar and ensure accuracy.
  • Create and send out on-going event communications via newsletters, flyers, and mass emails.
  • Create weekly community updates twice a week, monthly newsletter, and manage ad placements.
  • Oversee charter club applications, activities, and fitness classes at the Wellness Center.
  • Manage event ticket sales, collect payments, ensure event up and break down.
  • Coordinate with vendors to include Food and Beverage Department and transportation vendors.
  • Coordinate travel events throughout the year to include transportation vendors, set up deposits and AP.
  • Manage homeowner volunteers for events.
  • Attend monthly lifestyle committee meetings.
  • Meet with new homeowners and leasors to register, obtain access cards, review Code of Conduct and HOA rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Outgoing personality who is customer service oriented.
  • Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.).
  • Organized, detailed oriented, works proactively, and anticipates the needs of homeowners and residents.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Well versed in MS Office Suite, managing online calendar, and mass emails.
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours due to days and times of scheduled events.
