Job Description
The Recreation Assistant monitors resident and guest use of club facilities for adherence to the Rules & Regulations regarding facility use. In addition, will assist in functions/duties relating to operation and maintenance of facilities, and maintain verification of residents’ membership to the club facilities, and surrounding facilities at the community.
Requirements
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform all opening/closing procedures affiliated with Lodge:
- Including walking the facility throughout your shift for safety and maintenance issues, looking for damages, repairs and cleanliness and filling out opening/closing checklists.
- Unlocking/locking doors to the facility, turning off and setting alarm, turning on/off electronics (music, display board) and all lights in the facility, making sure sign-in sheets are ready, preparing coffee, water and tea.
- Refilling the coffee station.
- Inputting work orders in a timely manner.
- Check pool and spa water temps twice during your shift and logging it in the pool/spa log.
- Provide excellent customer service to homeowners and guests:
- Greeting all residents and guests as they enter the facility.
- Ensure the homeowners (with guests) complete the sign-in log upon entering the facility.
- Convey a consistent, positive, upbeat demeanor when communicating with residents, vendors, contractors, and guests.
- Implement rules, regulations, and policies established by the Board of Directors.
- Answer various questions that residents may have regarding facility usage and events.
- Handle resident issues in a polite and patient manner.
- Report any issues or concerns residents may have to GM.
- Answer phones with the prescribed greeting in a professional and courteous manner at all times and within 3 rings.
- Responding to emails and phone calls within 24 hrs.
- Ensure the front desk is neat and tidy at all times.
- Have knowledge of facility and give tours to potential homeowners when needed.
- Basic office duties (photocopying, filing, faxing paperwork, light typing, record keeping, etc.)
- Obtain age verifications, property profiles and directory forms from homeowners and residents.
- Sort monthly newsletters; notify Street Captains when ready; monitor when picked upLogging customer service issues in the customer service log.
- Prepare and distribute incident reports when required.
- Enforcement of pool and spa rules, as shown in pool area.
- Keep all rooms and outdoor recreation areas neat and clean, to include but not limited to pushing in chairs, returning pitchers and glasses to kitchen, put games and equipment away, books are returned tolibrary, open and close umbrellas, tightening nets on the courts, picking up trash, etc.
- Check out sports equipment.
- Perform room set-ups/take downs for reserved events, clubs, and committees. This includes putting away all chairs, tables, etc.
- Attend events in a supporting role as needed.
- Assist Activities Director with events, excursions, reservations for various rooms in Outlook, providing Activities Director copies of all tentative reservations.
- Speak effectively when answering various questions that residents may have regarding facility usage and events.
- Handle sign-ups for events, classes, excursions, etc.
- Sort incoming mail daily.
- Cover shifts when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Rate of pay: $18.39 - $19.67 an hour depending on experience.
- Must be available on weekends.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Working Conditions
- Non-Typical office environment (frequent standing, walking, talking, etc.), both inside activities and outside activities.
