Job Description

 

The Construction Purchasing Analyst is responsible for supporting the procurement and sourcing of materials, equipment, and services necessary for construction projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of resources, maintaining supplier relationships, and contributing to the overall success of construction projects.

 

Targeted Performance Outcomes

  • Material
    • Work with material suppliers to generate best possible pricing for LHR. Take into consideration rebates as well.
  • Labor
    • Consistently strengthen LHR’s depth chart for sub-contractors. Look to build relationships across the country.
    • Work to ensure all labor contracts are written on LHR contract form and include required insurance coverages to protect LHR.
    • Review sub-contractor COI’s to ensure they comply with LHR requirements.
  • Budget Management
    • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to develop procurement budgets.
    • Support purchasing activities with the goal of ensuring we are within budgetary constraints and report any variances.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function.
    • Implement best practices and innovative approaches to streamline procurement processes.

 

Requirements

 

Candidate Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to build relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers and co-workers.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Background in construction, with focus on purchasing and/or field experience.
  • Ability to learn and embrace requisite construction related software.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to and thrive in changing work environments.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage workload.
  • Travel may be required from time to time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Practicing knowledge and understanding of organization’s mission, vision and values.
  • Works with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Requires 3+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably directly in Purchasing or field experience.
  • Must be advocate of continual learning and development.
