Our Project Manager/Assistant Facilities Director oversees major and minor maintenance and reserve projects for the community. This person will be responsible for writing RFPs, reviewing and overseeing project contracts.

About The Community

Located 17 miles from downtown Phoenix, Estrella provides a lakeside mountain oasis nestled in the Sierra Estrella Mountains in the Sonoran Desert Valley. The community offers more than 500 acres of parks and open space including 72 acres of lakes for boating and fishing, the Starpointe Residents Club, Presidio Residents Club, hiking trails, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, and is home to a Nicklaus-design championship golf course.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Responsibilities include assisting the Facilities Manager in managing contracts including landscape maintenance, lake maintenance, irrigation pump system maintenance, and other contractors as needed
  • Explore new vendors and subcontractors to ensure the highest quality of service at the most competitive prices, as well as assist in the development of a three-year operational and reserve plans for major projects
  • Evaluate contractor performance and provide project reports to the Facilities Director
  • Maintain and update water and electric meter use logs, manage irrigation equipment, medians, and easements, and support special events

What We’re Looking For

  • Must be able to do each essential duty listed above
  • Understand, calculate and implement cost effective bidding processes for labor and material
  • Have extensive knowledge of landscape maintenance, irrigation systems and pump station
  • Be able to speak and communicate effectively with homeowners and Board Members
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point is highly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Excel for preparing budget information
  • Additionally, this position must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, current vehicle liability insurance, good driving record, and reliable transportation
  • All potential employees must pass a pre-employment drug screen, driving record and background check prior to employment

The physical requirements can vary, but generally, they may include:

  • Mobility: Ability to walk the grounds long distances in various weather conditions.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifting and carrying supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Extended Sitting or Standing: Capability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings or events.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skills in using technology, including computers and mobile devices.
  • Driving: Ability to operate vehicle to perform certain job functions. (Please note: We will request and review an MVR at the time of hire and on a periodic basis thereafter to ensure that employees maintain a satisfactory driving status.)
