Job Description

Description

Hi, We’re AppFolio

We’re innovators, changemakers, and collaborators. We’re more than just a software company – we’re pioneers in cloud and AI who deliver magical experiences that make our customers’ lives easier. We’re revolutionizing how people do business in the real estate industry, and we want your ideas, enthusiasm, and passion to help us keep innovating.

The Product Marketing Manager for the Accounting & Payments Platform will drive the adoption of AppFolio’s accounting and payments capabilities, a key pillar of our solution that is central to our customers’ success and the backbone of their business. The role will align the cross-functional go-to-market teams around common objectives, evolve the positioning of our accounting and payments capabilities, orchestrate product launches, and work closely with the product and marketing teams to communicate the solution to customers and prospects.

Your impact

  • Build deep product and market expertise through direct customer conversations as well as market and competitive research.
  • Work closely with the product management team to understand product features, benefits, and roadmap.
  • Create compelling positioning and messaging that gets at the heart of customer pain points and clearly articulates how AppFolio solves them.
  • Plan and execute product launches, including coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful market introduction.
  • Collaborate with the sales and services enablement teams to create collateral and education programs.
  • Develop thought leadership content and customer stories that resonate with our target audience, making complex concepts easily understandable.
  • Continuously analyze, tweak, and improve how we go to market with our payments and accounting platform based on deep data analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Finance or a related field.
  • Experience in marketing, product marketing, or product management - ideally with exposure to Finance, Accounting, and/or Real Estate.
  • Excellent writing style and command of language to create a broad array of written communication.
  • Great stage presence and presentation skills to lead both internal and external presentations.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and execute complex projects through cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to generate insights from customer, market, and performance data.

Must have

  • A contagious positive attitude, seeing opportunities rather than obstacles and the ability to motivate cross-functional team members to come along for the ride.
  • Confidence in your own ability and willingness to take the lead and play a proactive role in shaping our strategy.
  • The ability to hold your own in discussions with senior leaders, never shy to speak up and advocate for your perspective.
  • The capacity to create a vision for a different future and the tenacity to make your case for it to get others to buy into it.
  • Being a self-starter who feels empowered to lead and acts rather than waiting for perfect data.
  • Deep curiosity, especially about our customers, our product, and our industry.
  • Capacity to deal with ambiguity and chart a path in new and unknown territory.
