Position Summary

 

The Operations Area Specialist are responsible for meeting, greeting, and registering guests and residents, as well as maintaining the safety of the property. This position requires adaptability to different situations and the hours may change in the future. Must possess strong leadership, communication and time management skills. Detail oriented and able to multi-task. Responsible for quality, consistency, safety and overall customer service presentation to residents and guests. Able to understand and react to emergency response and access control procedures; monitors and operates electronic security control systems; and accurately maintains daily logs, records and forms.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in vacation, sick time, leave of absence, and emergency callouts. .
  • Assigned to a specific region.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service, communication and time management skills.
  • Adheres to company policy in all assigned properties.
  • Needs to have reliable form of transportation and mobile communication.
  • While on duty must be in Company approved attire and/or uniform, and follow the Company dress code and policy
  • When on assignment, keeps work area clean.
  • Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment. Any safety issues must be brought to the attention of the Property Manager immediately.
  • Responsible for checking the Fire Alarm panel to ensure that it is in normal Status. Reports any indicated troubles in writing to the Property Manager immediately.
  • Required learn and follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g. Evacuations, medical emergencies and natural disasters)
  • Prepare and review written documents. (e.g., daily logs, inspections, reports).
  • Responds to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reports all complaints/issues to Security Field Supervisor/Security Manger
  • On call 24/7 for emergencies and call outs assigned by Security Manager/Security Field
  • Supervisor including, but not limited to weekends and Holidays.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards and values
  • May be assigned other duties, responsibilities as required.
  • Assist with Receiving Department shifts as needed.
  • Assist with Front Desk shifts as needed.
  • Needs to read and understand the First Service Residential Employee Handbook / Front Desk General Reference Guide.
  • Provide administrative support as needed

Education & Experience

 

High school diploma or equivalency required. Two (2) to three (3) years of hospitality experience is preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

 

  • Proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication and
  • Interpersonal skills required.

Tools & Equipment Used:

 

Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment.

 

Physical Requirements / Working Environment:

 

Ability to lift 30 – 50 lbs; Work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods of time; Handle, finger, grasp and lift objects and packages; Reach with hands and arms; Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word; Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions; Complete all required forms. Possess knowledge of multi-building operations. Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on project requirement. Driving is required.

Travel:

 

Work involves driving to assigned properties, as needed.
