Overview:

Short Course - The Cordillera Short Course is a 9-hole, par 3 course located in the Divide of Cordillera, with fabulous views of the Vail Valley. A Dave Pelz Signature design, one of two in the world, the course was created to improve your short game. Each hole is less than 200 yards and features challenging shots and tight bunkering.

There is also a short game practice area for pitching, chipping, and putting skills. It is enough for serious players looking to lower their handicap, while providing a fun, relaxed golf experience for families and golfers of every ability level.

The Cordillera Vail Gondola Club – The CVGC is a seasonal private membership Club located in Vail Village at the top of Bridge Street, steps from the base of Vail Mountain and Gondola One.

The Cordillera Vail Gondola Club provides members with the most convenient locale for experiencing Vail's incredible skiing and the array of exciting events the Town of Vail offers.

This well-appointed Club offers a warm, welcoming sanctuary with friendly professional staff, ski and gear storage and exceptional access to both Vail Village and Vail Mountain. Members benefit from access to this quality recreational and social amenity.

We are looking to hire an organized and positive leader to manage day-to-day operations at both the Short Course and the Vail Gondola Club. Primary responsibility will be to the Short Course from May through October. Primary responsibility will be to the Vail Gondola Club from November through April. Both operations will require some management throughout the entire year. This position requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to lead a strong team.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Assist the AGM in recruiting and selecting seasonal candidates for both operations.
  • Responsible for the initial and continued training of staff for both operations.
  • Facilitate preseason preparations for both operations.
  • Oversee day to day operations at both the Short Course and Vail Gondola Club.
  • Manage daily duties for staff to follow and make changes as appropriate to ensure daily operations are completed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a welcoming lodge environment for Homeowners, Members and Guests at both operations.
  • Promote a “can do” and “always ready and willing” atmosphere.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, harmonious and enjoyable workplace for all staff.
  • Responsible for tracking inventory and placing necessary orders with vendors.
  • Maintain a full understanding of all tasks that are required of the staff to operate both the Short Course and Vail Gondola Club.
  • Perform all duties required of staff as required.
  • Responsible for staff scheduling.
  • Clear understanding of all rules and regulations at each operation.
  • Ensure all staff understand the rules and regulations of each operation and that those rules are being followed.
  • As the first step of escalation, must be willing and able to handle any comments, complaints or issues staff are not able to resolve.
  • As the second step of escalation, report any comments, complaints or issues to the Assistant General Manager of the CPOA.
  • Monitor staff performance and take disciplinary action when needed.
  • Ensure all cash gratuities are safely stored and distributed fairly.
  • Plus, any additional tasks that may be assigned by Assistant General Manager or General Manager of the CPOA.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements

  • Previous Club/Hospitality experience required.

Skills Required

  • Customer Service – Must enjoy dealing with Homeowners, Members and Guests. Going above and beyond within the rules and regulations in a friendly & helpful manner. Must be able to handle comments or issues that are reported in a manner focused on de-escalation and problem solving.
  • Communication – Must be able to communicate expectations clearly to staff. Must be able to communicate details and restrictions within the rules and regulations with sound reasoning to staff, homeowners, members and guests both verbally and written.
  • Team Builder – Must promote and foster a professional, positive work environment where proper task completion and exemplary customer service is recognized.
  • Judgement – Must be able to respond quickly to a fast paced environment and make sound decisions without reacting to short term emotion.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $33 - $34 hourly
