Responsibilities
The YSPUC Meter Reader/Aerobics Inspector’s key responsibility is to record meter readings & check the aerobic systems on a monthly basis.
Job Duties:
- Record the actual monthly water meter readings
- Inspect the septic aerobics systems
- Maintain communication with YLOA Office regarding misread meters and other issues that arise
- Report any unusual changes to the meter, meter usage, septic systems, and newly vacated or occupied premises
- Must be able to maintain communication and answer questions with homeowners on occasions
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Must be physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays and evenings when necessary
- Basic knowledge of use of small tools/shovels
- Must have a clean driving record and maintain a Class C driver’s license issued with CA Department of motor vehicles
- Must have the ability to communicate clearly with both written and verbal communications
- Have the ability to read, write and communicate in the English language when corresponding with job duties
Physical Demands:
- Meet the health and physical condition standard necessary for the position, including the ability to stand and kneel for periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stoop, bend over, walk treacherous terrain, digging and sitting
- Must be able to work in sometimes extreme weather conditions (hot/cold temperatures, rain)
- Have 20/20 vision and good hearing (with correction)

Pay and Benefits:
$18.50 to $20.00, depending on education and experience.
