Responsibilities

 This is a Tuesday - Saturday work schedule, 1:30pm - 9:30pm. 

We are looking for a hard-working part time Kitchen prep cook to be responsible for setting up workstations in the kitchen and preparing ingredients for the cooking process. The Kitchen prep cook is required to perform basic cooking duties, monitor stock levels, and take on culinary tasks as they arise.

To be a successful prep cook, you should understand and be willing to comply with food and sanitation guidelines and regulations, be quick and diligent, and be willing to improve on the job. A top-notch Kitchen prep cook should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

Part Time Kitchen Prep Cook Responsibilities:

 Setting up and sanitizing workstations. 
 Following prep lists created by chef. 
 Measuring ingredients and seasonings, and preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock to be used in the cooking process. 
 Preparing simple dishes, such as entrees or salads. 
 Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible. 
 Assisting chef in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise. 
 Distributing plates to wait staff to be served, cleaning plates for dishwashing, and preparing takeaway packages for customers. 
 Supervising food and cooling room temperatures. 
 Accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers. 
 Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen. 
 Preparing drinks and cocktails according to the chef's specifications. 
 Plus other work related tasks as needed 

The Dishwasher’s duties include washing soiled plates and glassware thoroughly as well as maintain the overall cleanliness of the back of the house. They may also restock items, unload delivery trucks, help prepare cook stations, clean appliances and machines, empty and clean trash receptacles, and other duties, as needed. To be successful as a Dishwasher, you should be a committed, communicative team player with excellent time management skills, and can multi-task. You should be able to prioritize tasks in a busy setting and adhere to all food safety regulations and procedures.

Duties And Responsibilities

 Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware. 
 Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc. 
 Unloading and storing deliveries if necessary. 
 Sweeping and mopping floors, especially if items are broken or spilled. 
 Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans. 
 Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed. 
 Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures. 

Plus other work related tasks as needed

Qualifications

 High school diploma or equivalent. 
 Food Handlers certification preferred 
 Culinary school training would be advantageous. 
 Experience as a prep cook may be advantageous. 
 Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives. 
 Strong teamwork and communication skills. 
 Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment. 
 Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays. 
 Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment. 

Pay and Benefits:

$19.50 - $21.50 per hour
