Job Description

POSITION: Grounds keeper and Maintenance technician (Full-Time) looking to fill three (3) positions

DIRECT REPORT: Maintenance Supervisor

Summary

The Groundskeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of outdoor spaces. This position involves performing various landscaping and maintenance tasks to ensure that gardens, lawns, and other landscaped areas are kept in pristine condition. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the overall beauty and functionality of the grounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Including But Not Limited To)

• Maintain all aspects of landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
• Perform garden care tasks such as planting, weeding, and mulching to enhance the visual appeal of flower beds and gardens.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various grounds keeping tasks.
• Irrigate plants and lawns as needed to ensure proper hydration and growth.
• Monitor the health of plants and lawns, identifying any issues such as pests or diseases that may require attention.
• Assist with seasonal preparations, including leaf removal and mulch replacement
• Maintain equipment used in grounds keeping to ensure it is safe and functional.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
  
  

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, including lawn care techniques.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to grounds keeping tasks.
• Ability to irrigate effectively and understand the watering needs of different plants.
• Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and order in outdoor spaces.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods while working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and respond to any specific landscaping requests or concerns.
  
  

COMPENSATION: Hourly Rate based on experience, plus Benefits, health, dental, 401K, AFLAC

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment involves and characteristics representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Groundskeeper mostly works outside in all areas of the property and has frequent exposure to outside elements where temperature, weather, odors, and/or landscape may be unpleasant.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, and climb, stoop, or squat. Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions including, but not limited to rain, heat, and, wind.

The employee must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of minimum sixty- five (65) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
