Our growing organization is currently in need of a responsible individual to fill the position of Facilities Manager. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for management of building systems, inspecting, maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems to ensure optimal operating results. The successful candidate will oversee the company’s facility operations, manage staff, manage janitorial duties, all while remaining in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

 

In addition, the Facilities Manager must have good client relations skills with focus on communications, verbal and written; ability to work with company management and employees; and be flexible as the needs arise to assist company management meet the needs of the core business.

 

Duties And Responsibilities - This Position Is Not Remote

 

Using best business practices focused on ensuring the most suitable working condition of the employees and cost effective solutions, the following key items must be addressed, if applicable

 

  • All building and ground systems, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, communications, fire protection, and all utilities are properly functioning and maintained
  • Building meets health and safety code requirements
  • Security systems are functioning and maintained Budget development and tracking ensuring expense variances are documented
  • Procurement of facilities services, and equipment parts are addressed without delay
  • Knowledge and understanding of the uniform building codes
  • Custodial and landscape management ensuring the cleanliness of the facilities and grounds maintenance are regularly addressed and monitored
  • Health, Safety, and Emergency requirements, including emergency systems are fully functional and properly maintained
  • Development of Emergency plan
  • Project management and planning, as needed
  • Execute equipment audits and record-taking policies
  • Oversee and supervise team of maintenance technicians
  • Coordinate with the General Manager on the implementation of new building projects
  • Coordinate system repairs and monitor system performance
  • Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary
  • Contract out other services with written bid requests as needed
  • Plus other tasks assigned by supervisor

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Complete understanding of repairs and maintenance at a facility level
  • Skilled in hands on mechanical, plumbing, general building repairs and consider self a “Jack of all trades”
  • Ability to use basic construction tools effectively
  • Must be able to read and understand English to effectively communicate with fellow employees on work-related issues
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
  • Must have prioritization and time management skills.
  • Must have a pleasant attitude and a good work ethic.

 

Pay and Benefits

 

$50,000 to $60,000, depending on education and experience.
