Property Summary
American Towers is a vintage high-rise community in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. The property has 357 units in two towers that share their parking structure with a commercial entity in the same block. The community has several desirable amenities, including a recently renovated indoor pool and spa, indoor racquetball court, billards room, library, two rooftop decks with hot tubs and a vibrant community of residents who love the building and high rise living.
Onsite Building Engineer
Location: American Towers – Salt Lake City, UT
Pay: $72,000 – $83,000 per year (depending on experience)
About The Role
American Towers is seeking an Onsite Building Engineer to lead our maintenance team and ensure the smooth operation of our high-rise condominium community. This role is responsible for supervising staff, overseeing maintenance schedules, performing repairs, and coordinating preventive maintenance to keep the property safe, functional, and well-maintained.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise, schedule, and support maintenance staff with daily/weekly assignments.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliances, and pool/spa systems.
- Respond to resident and management service requests, prioritizing emergencies.
- Monitor and approve repair work to ensure quality and limit callbacks.
- Conduct daily property inspections to identify hazards and maintenance needs.
- Coordinate and perform preventive maintenance on equipment and common areas.
- Order supplies and track maintenance budget, with GM approval on major purchases.
- Assist with recruiting, training, and developing maintenance staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and provide safety training for employees.
