What You’ll Do

AppFolio seeks a Manager, Corporate Public Relations, to support our growing corporate communications team, developing and executing a corporate PR strategy that promotes and protects AppFolio and enhances our company narrative. You are a master storyteller with excellent writing skills, substantive experience engaging business and technology media, and a passion for communicating to influence audiences and inspire action. You will be an essential partner to the broader corporate communications team, corporate functions, product communications, and corporate executives. • Lead media relations outreach for crucial corporate activities (executive, leadership, business, and corporate announcements).
  • Co-manage (with Product Communications) our PR agency relationship, driving strong alignment, execution, and achievement of pre-determined KPIs within the allocated budget. Manage workflows and deliverables, monitor for quality, provide direct and timely feedback, and evaluate agency performance.
  • Write high-quality PR materials, including pitches, press releases, Q&A/FAQ, contributed articles, and keynote presentations.
  • Evangelize our corporate narrative and develop content that favorably shapes the perception of AppFolio as an industry leader and employer of choice.
  • Oversee an editorial calendar of PR opportunities and moments, including bylined articles, blog and social media content, speaking engagements, and award/list submissions.
  • Develop and execute executive communications programs for key corporate leadership team members.
  • Develop proactive and reactive crisis communications strategies, including internal and external recommendations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong media relations skills and a passion for corporate PR
  • Ability to bring an outside-in perspective to media relations to achieve consistent top-tier results
  • A strong writing background with a demonstrated ability to develop communications materials that influence and inspire action
  • Ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, working proactively with superior attention to detail
  • Strong executive presence and ability to hold a “seat at the table” alongside other areas of the business
  • Flexible, adaptable, and open
  • Current knowledge of digital communications and social media engagement tools and techniques
  • Data-driven and KPI-oriented

Must-Haves

  • BS/BA in PR, communications, marketing, or related discipline
  • 6+ years of corporate communications or PR agency experience engaging directly with the media, preferably in the technology industry
