Job Description
This role will be at The Colony in Murrieta, CA and is Full Time.
Summary
Assist in functions/duties relating to operation and maintenance of facilities. Under moderate
supervision, monitors the clubhouse area for adherence to the Rules & Regulations regarding
facility use. Position is full time and requires days, evenings, holidays and weekend work schedules. Work involves regular contact with residents using clubhouse facilities and works under the Maintenance Manager. Position also works with the Recreation Director through the MaintenanceManager to coordinate schedule coverage for special events, set ups and tear downs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the overall maintenance of the facilities and common area amenities within the
community. Also, responsible for the cleanliness of the clubhouse interior, its furniture and
equipment which includes, but is not limited to, the following:
General Duties:
- All maintenance staff positions will be responsible for performing minor maintenance
tasks under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Tasks may include, but are not limited to, painting, minor electrical, carpentry,
plumbing, minor HVAC, etc.
- All maintenance staff positions will be responsible for performing minor maintenance
tasks throughout the community as they relate to common area.
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs and equipment for meeting, events and activities
Custodial Duties:
- Clean up after events.
- Clean all mirrors, glass surfaces and glass doors.
- Sweep and mop tile, hardwood and linoleum floors.
- Dust, clean and sanitize all communal surfaces (tables, chairs, counters, shelves and etc.).
- Straighten up and keep furniture and decorations in proper order.
- Spot clean and vacuum carpets and mats.
- Empty waste baskets and trash cans, replace liners and throw trash into main receptacle.
- Dust and remove cobwebs inside and out of building.
- Replace lamp and light bulbs that have burnt out.
- Assist residents as needed.
Kitchen:
- Dust, spray and wipe down all counters, walls, sinks, backsplashes and appliances.
- Clean stove top, grates, grease traps and ovens as needed.
- Clean inside refrigerator and freezer as needed.
- Clean and dry coffee pots after each use.
- Sweep and mop floor and clean floor drains.
- Monitor check in and check out of equipment from pantry.
- Report any problems and missing equipment to supervisor.
Entryways, Halls, Common Areas and Recreation Rooms: (Includes all general
tasks):
- Clean mirrors, windows, screens and blinds.
- Dust and clean pictures, wall hangings and marks on the walls.
- Dust and clean fans, fixtures and vent covers.
- Dust and clean cabinets and shelves.
- Clean and polish drinking fountains
- Wipe down and sanitize fitness equipment and mats.
Locker Rooms and Restrooms:
- Check on cleanliness throughout the day - clean as necessary and report any major
problems.
- Check for leaks, safety hazards and other problems. Report issues immediately.
- Wipe down, scrub and disinfect toilets including seats, sides and base.
- Wipe down and clean toilet partitions, tile walls and lockers.
- Scrub and rinse down showers and clean drains including shower mats.
- Scrub, rinse out and sanitize sinks and fixtures.
- Spot clean and vacuum carpets and mats.
- Stock supplies as needed (paper towels, toilet paper, seat covers, soap, etc.).
Responsible for cleaning the exterior grounds and recreation facilities, which includes,
but is not limited to, the following:
Tennis and Paddle Courts:
- Blow off courts daily.
- Wash courts in accordance with the bi-weekly duties schedule.
- Check for any rips or tears in the net – report any problems to the supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Available to perform assigned duties; consistent, friendly and helpful attitude with
both clients and co-workers; minimal co-worker complaints; accurate production of
work; meets deadlines.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Effective written and verbal communication with management, staff, residents,
contractors and vendors; organize, prioritize and complete tasks independently.
Possession of a valid California Driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance and
annual DMV printout.
- Must be able to work extended hours or overtime.
The hourly pay rate for this position is $18.
