Job Description
To clean the community facilities and to set up and take down tables and chairs for all events held at the recreation centers. This position reports to the Maintenance Services Supervisor and has significant interaction General Manager & Guard staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Center
- Keep front walkway clean
- Clean fingerprints from glass on front doors
- Vacuum all carpeted areas and spot clean carpet as needed
- Dust and mop non-carpeted areas; damp mop tile floors as needed
- Dust and/or polish desks, tables, furniture, window sills, baseboards; clean ashtrays
- Vacuum upholstered furniture as needed; keep furniture and decorator items in order
- Clean mirrors and interior glass; perform high dusting; spot clean marks on walls
- Remove trash
- Clean both bathrooms, toilet, urinals sinks & floors
- Set up and tear down tables and chairs for functions.
- Replenish paper towels; remove trash
- Clean sinks, appliances and oven
- Mop/wax floor as needed; clean cabinets and refrigerator
Buildings
- Wipe down base boards in hallways
- Clean windows; vacuum carpet
- Spot clean marks on walls; remove trash
- Clean laundry rooms on every floor
- Clean trash & recycle rooms & chute
- Clean elevator floors & walls
Guard & MGMT office:
- Sweep, mop floors;
- Remove trash
- Clean bathroom toilet, sinks, floor
- Replace supplies
Parking garage & outside parking lot
- Clean & maintain all areas in the garage, mopping pedestrian gate entrances
- Clean trash & recycle chute areas
- Pick up trash in outside lot, sweep any broken glass or other debris
- Wipe down elevator ante room doors, clean floors daily
Tennis & pickle ball courts weekly
- Clean courts
- Pick up trash, arrange chairs
Pool Area
- Straighten pool furniture; wipe down pool furniture, daily
- Hose down pool decking twice weekly or as needed
- Clean pool bathrooms, shower, sinks, floors
- Clean drinking fountain
- Empty and clean trash containers;
- Sweep & wipe down dry Saunas inside pool bathrooms
Racquet ball courts
- Sweep, & mop court surfaces weekly
- Pick up trash & empty trash cans
The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind the work of different assignment positions.
Requirements
- High School education and experience that provides the following:
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
- Knowledge of the materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning operations.
- Ability to maintain a schedule of cleaning and work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines and other custodial equipment.
- Ability to work hours determined by shift assignment
- Ability to use care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.
This hourly rate for this position is $17.
