Job Description

Recreation Center

  • Keep front walkway clean
  • Clean fingerprints from glass on front doors
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas and spot clean carpet as needed
  • Dust and mop non-carpeted areas; damp mop tile floors as needed
  • Dust and/or polish desks, tables, furniture, window sills, baseboards; clean ashtrays
  • Vacuum upholstered furniture as needed; keep furniture and decorator items in order
  • Clean mirrors and interior glass; perform high dusting; spot clean marks on walls
  • Remove trash
  • Put up the flags every day
  • Set up and tear down tables and chairs for functions and assemble/dismantle stage and risers when required

Kitchen

  • Make coffee; replenish paper towels; remove trash
  • Clean sinks and stainless steel appliances and oven
  • Mop/wax floor as needed; clean cabinets and refrigerator

Fitness Center

  • Wipe down leather and chrome equipment
  • Clean mirrors; vacuum carpet
  • Spot clean marks on walls; remove trash

Vista, Library, Garden and Billiard Rooms:

  • Sweep, mop and wax floors; vacuum rugs in all rooms as needed
  • Remove trash

Shuffleboard Building

  • Clean gutters (floor) monthly; sweep and mop end of court monthly
  • Remove trash

Shower Rooms

  • Clean and sanitize daily
  • Clean and sanitize rubber mats twice weekly
  • Damp mop floors daily

Restrooms at Rec 1, 2 and Fiesta Building

  • Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, urinals
  • Spot clean marks on walls, doors, partitions
  • Restock paper and soap dispensers
  • Clean mirrors; damp mop floors; wipe down lockers
  • Remove trash.

Craft Rooms

  • Clean craft tables
  • Damp mop tile floor and wax as needed

Pool Area

  • Straighten pool furniture; wipe down pool furniture
  • Hose down pool decking twice weekly or as needed
  • Clean outside shower; clean drinking fountain
  • Empty and clean trash containers; empty and clean ashtrays

The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind the work of different assignment positions.

Requirements

  • High School education and experience that provides the following:
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
  • Knowledge of the materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning operations.
  • Ability to maintain a schedule of cleaning and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines and other custodial equipment.
  • Ability to work hours determined by shift assignment
  • Ability to use care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.
  • Ability to speak and understand English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Possession of a valid California driver license with DMV record that meets or exceeds company policy, and proof of automobile insurance.

This position will at least meet the minimum wage requirement of $16.37.
