The Line Cook is the heart of the house Team Member. This position plans, preps, sets up and provides quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials. As a line cook, you must have a strong passion for delivering and flawlessly executing recipes and plate presentations to delight our guests in accordance with standards and guides of the chef’s specifications. Must have a firm commitment to the highest organization, safety, cleanliness and sanitation standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with the industry’s best practices
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and recognize the importance of each team member’s role in the guest dining experience.
  • Food Handler's Card required (or ServSafe Certificate)

Duties:

  • Set up and stock station prior to scheduled meal service and clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils accordingly.
  • Assures all menu items are prepared and fresh prior to service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Prepare all dishes in accordance with the standards of quality, quality control, taste and presentation as established by the chef’s expectations.
  • Follow proper handling, preparation and holding guidelines.
  • Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations; Ensures work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary
  • Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules
  • Ensure communication with expeditor, fellow team members and service staff for timing of preparation of assigned menu items.
  • Communicate appropriately and effectively with all food service staff and supervisors.
