Job Description
The Lifeguard supervisor is responsible for conducting basic lifeguarding duties, handling the day to day function of the seasonal lifeguards, coordinating lifeguarding shifts, leading trainings, properly caring for and maintaining equipment, and communicating issues to the Board and the Community Manager for the homeowner association.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of the facility patrons and lifeguard team.
Supervise and train the lifeguard team.
Supervise the daily facility safety inspection.
Oversee recreation events to ensure that they meet specific goals, guests’ interests and needs for the homeowner association.
Manage, develop and lead recreation staff by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and reviewing the performance of all staff employees.
Maintain all required safety records.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
Leadership and public relations skills.
Understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures.
Ability to instruct, assign, supervise and evaluate lifeguards in the performance of their duties.
The ability to identify hazards and unsafe practices and to make suitable recommendations for minimizing or eliminating those hazards.
Strong decision making skills.
