LIFEGUARDS PART-TIME $18/hr. Brockton, MA
Information and Requirements
4 Lifeguards: Part-time hours from 12 -- 30 hours per week. Assistance with
Lifeguard Certifications -- ask for details. Must be super reliable!
The Lifeguard ensures the safety of pool customers and assists with aquatic emergencies and
pool operations. Work is performed under the general supervision of the CPO Pool Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Safeguards and regulates the conduct of pool patrons. Enforces pool policies, rules, and regulations.
Will rescue people and perform appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of
equipment in the performance of first aid.
- Test water quality in the pool and maintain appropriate records. Assists in the proper
maintenance and sanitary upkeep of the pool, pool area, and/or facility. Participates in
the preparation of daily records. Provides written reports on all accidents. Maintains
properly updated safety requirements.
- Verify pool attendees are pre-approved on the pool application list and sell guest passes per
pool rules and regulations as needed.
- Conducts patron swimming test to assess the ability to swim independently and unattended.
Provides customer service to patrons, including handling customer conflicts or complaints,
as necessary.
- Performs work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures. Operates
equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practices to the supervisor.
- May provide guidance to less experienced Lifeguards during shift. May maintain proper
chemical balances in the pool as directed by CPO Supervisor. May handle mechanical/pump
room or chemical problems as necessary.
- Performs related work as required, such as pool vacuuming and cleaning furniture and area.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or
ability required. We will assist in paying for certifications for new hires. (ask for details)
- Must possess valid Lifeguarding Certificates, which include First Aid/AED, Title 22, and
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer.
- Knowledge of water rescue methods.
- Knowledge of lifeguarding and first-aid practices and techniques.
- Knowledge of swimming pool operations, including sanitation, maintenance, and safety.
- Must have the ability to courteously and firmly interact with pool patrons.
- Ability and skill in carrying out water rescues which may require heavy lifting and
pulling.
