Job Description
Overview
The Learning and Development Specialist has the full responsibility over the technical and behavioral area of training programs. The Specialist designs, develops, coordinates and implements new and existing training programs in close cooperation with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). They have ownership over administrating a portion of LMS and marketing training events to the organization.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities
- Manages learning and development materials including maintenance of LMS and company curricula
- Identifies training needs and training gaps in the technical and/or behavioral areas of the organization in close cooperation with the Learning Manager
- Works with Subject Matter Experts to design and develop technical & behavioral training based on organization’s needs
- Partners with management and leadership team to develop training strategies based on the organization’s needs
- Delivers and facilitates training to employees using a variety of instructional techniques
- May work with external training vendors to deliver tailored training programs and courses
- Monitors best practices and trends in the training area and introduces them in the organization
- Evaluates the quality of training courses in the technical and behavioral area of the organization and provides suggestions on how to make improvements
- Maintains updates to, and oversees, new employee orientation and onboarding programs
- Supports leadership development and coaching, in close cooperation with Learning Manager
- Designs and develops training manuals, and other course materials as needed for each training
- Creates online learning modules using best practices for e-Learning
- Monitors and ensures compliance with required workplace training and education
- Maintains professional image and confidentiality of all company records and information at all times.
- May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish/English)
- Extreme attention to detail
- Outstanding customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required, creating effective customer-focused relationships with all organization levels in variety of communication settings and styles.
- Strong computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software required; specifically, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Ability to work and use time effectively based on key priorities, under tight deadlines while maintaining composure.
- Ability to engage, inspire, and influence people
Required Education and Experience
- Associates degree with concentration in business or human resources management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) to four (4) years, in a training or human resources role; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with learning management systems and content creators required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience working with Articulate 360 a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or human resources preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Instructional Design
- Performs needs analysis as needed to identify learning needs for the organization and develops a plan on how to deliver training
- Creates content storyboards to ensure training content is kept engaging and impactful; aligns with organization needs
- Coordination
- Manages and supports coordination of training events across the organization
- Delivery
- Ensures that the delivery of training is consistent with Castle’s core purpose and training standards
- e-Learning
- Utilizes current content creator to create engaging e-learning content by implementing e-learning best practices
