Action is seeking a Lead Access Control Officer for our Grande North property in San Diego.
Summary
The Lead Access Control Officer is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the access control team and ensuring the safety and security of the property. This position requires a strong understanding of access control procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Compensation: $25 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
What You’ll Do (Job Duties)
- Responsible for supervising the Access Control team.
- Train and mentor new access control officers
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the team.
- Supervise the daily activities of the access control team, ensuring adherence to established procedures and policies.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by the team members in a timely and professional manner.
- Greet residents, guests and visitors at the front desk kiosk in a welcoming manner.
- Answer phones and provide information to callers.
- Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the property.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property, including the building perimeter, hallways, and stairwells.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and report suspicious activity.
- Respond to disturbances and emergencies as needed.
- Coordinate resident moves and ensure common areas are protected.
- Operate the elevator control system to direct visitors to the correct floors.
- Ensure that all HOA rules and regulations are being followed.
- Understand and implement emergency procedures.
- Take appropriate action to address any violations of HOA rules.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports as required.
- Assist with the development and implementation of new security procedures and policies.
- Monitor the property for any signs of damage or vandalism
- Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate department
- This position requires onsite presence at the assigned property. The position requires outdoor patrols with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Who You Are (Skills/Experience)
- A minimum of 2 years of security or relevant experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Strong understanding of access control procedures and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled problem solver with high attention to detail and a high sense of ethics and honesty.
- Ability to respond swiftly to safety and emergency related situations.
- General computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and the ability to learn and operate the property management software utilized by Action Property Management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
