Job Description

The Landscape Inspector is responsible for completing inspections of the work being performed by the contractor landscape service provider, to ensure they are delivering the quality of work and the scope of work as outlined in their contract. This will include visual inspections, walking the areas where services had been recently performed, and communicating with the General Manager to communicate any deficiencies or concerns. The individual seeking this role shall be familiar with a wide variety of landscape species (shrubs, trees, flowers, plants, turf, etc), their growth patterns and the basic needs of these plants & turf. He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills, representative of Castle Royal Service. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is desirable but not required. The LRC will report directly to the General Manager and will need to communicate with the landscape service provider's management team as requested by the GM.
 
Inspections based on a cycle whereby the community is divided into equal sections with one section being inspected each week.
Weekly inspections based upon a daily field inspection. Work Order updates are completed on the daily and the Landscape Inspector will provide follow up to all open work orders weekly to the landscape vendor.
Update all inspection data into the Northstar system.
Monitors the works orders in the Northstar system and take ownership of the system to ensure it is working for the needs of the community.
Coordinate with the landscape vendor and Board liaisons between them and the membership. 
Provide residents with the information in a timely manner when assigned to assist them.
Attend weekly Landscape Committee meetings. and take minutes/notes for follow up. 
Attend Board meetings upon request to provide regular updates to the Board.
Assist Community Association Manager with any special requests.
Resolves and follows-up on landscape complaints/issues as assigned.
May be assigned other duties by the on-site Community Association Manager.
Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
Manage Landscape Program for replacing homeowner landscaping. Tracks finances for the program on a spreadsheet.
Working familiarity with Excel & Word required.
Golf course experience is helpful.
 
Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses: 
High school diploma required. Associates degree with concentration in business preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

Two (2) to Three (3) years of related work experience. Strong working knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Excellent interpersonal, office management and communications skills. Strong writing skills.
Computer literacy: 
Intermediate command of computer hardware/software is required; specifically, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Experience in maintaining a website is desired.
Language requirements:

Bilingual preferred but not necessary, depending on the community.
Travel and availability requirements:

May be required to travel for training sessions off-site on an ad-hoc basis. May be occasionally required to cover for staff at other communities within a reasonable commuting distance when needed. 

Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on project requirement. Ability to respond to emergencies and callouts in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements: 
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods of time. Handle, grasp and lift objects and packages. Reach with hands and arms. Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word. Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions. Complete all required forms.
Must be able to operate a golf cart or other motor vehicle.

Working Conditions:

The majority of work will be completed outdoors with little to moderate noise levels.
