Job Description

Our Field Tech works with the Operations Manager to manage the Landscape maintenance contractors for the common areas. This position will address Irrigation, tree and insect issues, such as dry spots and unhealthy looking trees and turf. This is a critical role that will help solve various problems throughout the community.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Daily upkeep of the community grounds and facilities
  • Completing maintenance work orders
  • Operating within OSHA standards and company safety policies
  • Maintaining inventory of supplies/equipment needed to perform duties
  • Use WeatherTrak clock programming and flag problems for the repairs/adjustments to irrigation systems
  • Identify irrigation issues such as broken heads, solenoids, etc., provide solutions and report the issues to the landscape contractors
  • Plans and organizes ground maintenance projects such as mulch, tree pruning, irrigation repairs, and plant installs
  • Help monitor snow conditions and work with the snow contractors to make sure they are doing their job

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years old
  • Prefer six (6) months of irrigation and landscaping experience
  • Must be organized and efficient and can recognize the level of quality acceptable to keep facilities, parks and common areas looking their best
  • Must be able to read landscape plans, irrigation drawings, specifications and able to learn and work within our community software
  • Chemical and tree care experience is a plus, and the applicant should be able to diagnose diseases and problems such as Anthracnose, Iron deficiency and Lilac ash borer
  • Ability to communicate with residents, managers and peers in an effective way
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and able to sit or stand for long periods
  • Flexibility to work after-hours, weekends and holidays
  • Problem solving skills, self-starter and ability to work alone
  • Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving history
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and physical
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

About The Community
