Role: Insurance Account Manager

Job Summary: The essential functions of the Account Manager include aiding Community Managers and Boards with service needs including making changes to existing accounts, renewal and new business application processing and issuing certificates of insurance. This position will also serve all aspects of the handling and processing of claims with a focus on proactive management of claims at the individual and portfolio level.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Sales and Service Management
  • Completes applications in accordance with Industry and Blue Lime standards; submits applications to eligible and appropriate carriers; follows up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies.
  • Issues binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other related items; verifies their accuracy; forwards them to client with appropriate correspondence.
  • Determines appropriate billing and invoices accordingly.
  • Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals for word processing as needed.
  • Processes renewals in coordination with Community Manager according to agency procedures.
  • Reviews audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
  • Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary.
  • Processes incoming mail and phone requests, responding in a timely manner.
  • Uses agency credit and collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments, request cancellations from the carrier according to agency standards.
  • Determines reasons for requests for cancellations; and acts to save accounts.
  • Processes and follows up on cancellation requests to carriers to ensure accurate and timely resolution.
  • Works proactively to develop and manage strong relations with key brokers, underwriters, and the insured.
  • Promotes the Blue Lime brand of excellence and professionalism in all regards.

 

Claims Management

 

  • Proactively manage individual claims from notification to closure, investing the necessary level of involvement required for each claim depending on, the nature, category, and type the claim.
  • Develop, document, and execute claims processes considering uncertainties, key decisions, potential outcomes and estimated associated costs.
  • Prepare new claim reports, set appropriate activities, and follow-ups.
  • Regularly review individual claims within the portfolio and keep records up to date as required by Blue Lime’s standards.
  • Identifies exposure to loss and recommends appropriate coverages in coordination with Community Manager.
  • Provide input to underwriters on review of potential or existing insured’s claims experience.

 

Job requirements

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

 

  • College education preferred.
  • 3 years commercial insurance experience
  • Prior claims experience preferred.
  • Property, Casualty Agents License required.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance markets
  • Knowledge of Applied EPIC or AMS 360
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
  • Ability to Problem-solve, be decisive, be customer-focused, be a self-starter working in a remote environment, and think analytically.

 

Compensation

 

Starting salary is $60,000
