Job Description
Summary:
Performs a wide variety of tasks that support the daily operations and initiatives of the Human Resources Department. Directly reports to the Human Resources Business Partner and is in significant contact with Executive Staff, On-site General Managers, Supervisors, and Employees. Scope of work involves recruiting, onboarding, payroll processing, and elevating the Company Culture.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Acts as liaison between employee and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations
- Manages the full lifecycle for all exempt and non-exempt searches including assessing staffing needs, posting job requisitions and job advertisements, screening of all candidates, coordination of interviews, consultation with managers in hiring decisions and extending job offers
- Deliver and continuously improve an effective on-boarding program for new hires aligned with corporate and local requirements driving retention of top talent
- Create, deliver, and manage a staffing plan through collaboration with executive leadership to ensure all roles are filled in a timely manner and succession plans are maintained
- Assists Director of Client and Employee Experience in implementing and administering programs and events that positively impact employee engagement, retention and connection with the corporate culture and values. Includes recognition programs, social events, outings, and charitable events
- Manages the separation process, including collection of final documents, exit interviews, and sending required documents/final paycheck to the supervisor or departed employee. Completes all required internal notifications regarding separations
- Administers leaves of absence while applying appropriate Federal and State law entitlements to each individual leave of absence. Includes leave tracking, required correspondence and documentation, and updating supervisor on employee’s return date
- Responds to claims for unemployment insurance, including preparation of supporting documentation and managing the appeals process
- Process bi-weekly payroll and submit payroll updates prior to pay period ending
- Visit all regional offices monthly to build relationships, collaborate, and provide HR support
This position requires 3 days in office and salary is $67,000-$72,000.
The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work of different assignment positions.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Requires 1-2 years of directly related HR experience as a HR Generalist or related position. BA/BS in Human Resources, Human Resources Certificate or education in Business or related field is preferred.
- Requires 1-2 years of recruiting experience.
- Knowledge of or exposure to Federal and California employment laws such as ADA, FMLA and California Leave laws and benefits, with the demonstrated ability to understand and apply such legal requirements, and interpret and apply complex policies.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills required.
- Must be detail-oriented and meticulously organized, with excellent follow-through and analytical skills.
- Must be able to work independently and take the initiative to address issues on a pro-active basis.
- Problem solving, project management, and presentation skills required.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees and managers. Strong persuasion and conflict resolution skills required.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills a must, including strong proofreading abilities and the ability to interface with others inside and outside of the Company in a positive and professional manner.
