Summary

Conduct all functions of the Financial Management process and other general accounting activities. The role of the Financial Manager is to direct and coordinate the individual financial activities of the associations within his or her portfolio of accounts. These duties can be broken down into five primary categories of responsibility for each association. These categories include:

  • On-going maintenance and completion of monthly accounting records
  • Detailed financial analysis and modeling for both internal and external purposes
  • Directing the daily financial activities and actively participating in the decision-making process of financial directives
  • Coordinating the financial actions and responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Representative, Accounts Payable Representative, Billing Representative, Banking Coordinator, Account Executive, and Board of Directors
  • Long-term maintenance and coordination as well as financial oversight for activities which include but are not limited to: external audit, taxation, budgeting, investment laddering, reserve study, and legal compliance

  • Effective interactions with all levels of employees, management, clients and vendors. Work with various department representatives throughout the company to ensure that all requests are completed to meet the needs of our clients.
  • Preparation of Financial Statements (Income, Balance, and Cash Flow statements)
  • Monthly reconciliation of General Ledger and bank accounts
  • Posting of Journal Entries
  • Reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to the General Ledger on a monthly basis
  • Work with interrelated company transactions

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 3 or more years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building background/skills
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills consisting of oral, written, and listening skills
  • Collaborative decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • General Accounting knowledge and experience in order to consistently perform the job requirements with high levels of accuracy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and time management abilities while working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
  • Set and communicate deadlines and follow through on tasks for clients and colleagues
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Property Management background a plus
  • Detail-oriented
  • Analytical and proactive

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting is preferred

Language Skills

The candidate must have strong written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, both orally and in writing.
