Summary

Boat monitors are responsible for daily reservations and walk-in rentals for the Tally’s fleet and associated facilities to ensure safe behavior and assist with problems. Boat Monitors enforce the posted rules and regulations of the Recreation Center to provide a safe, family-friendly environment. If residents do get into difficulties, the Boat Monitor responds appropriately to rescue them and administers first aid.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily reservation and walk-in rentals for the Tally's Fleet; pontoons, fishing boats, kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, lake floats, fishing camps, fishing exertions, pontoon, and taps voyages, and on water yoga experiences.
Monitors reservation system daily, takes reservations on the phone or in person and makes sure there are no reservation conflicts.
Responsible for reservation check-in and check-out; following appropriate procedures for processes - forms, waivers, licenses, credit cards, refunds, cancellations, rescheduling, and collection of payments.
Assist rental customers with boating rules and procedures on all rentals, return time, late fee policies, weather-related policies, and damage to equipment policies, cancellation policies and lake map orientation.
Assists with daily cleaning, opening, and dosing procedures.
Assists in the responsibility to maintain the appearance of the customer areas; tables wiped down, chairs straightened, floor swept, cobwebs removed, umbrellas properly placed, and maintenance.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Ability to swim.
Must be service-oriented, enthusiastic, punctual, reliable, and follow the dress code per the company handbook.
Display a welcoming demeanor, friendly attitude, and be a team player.
Ability to multi-task, accept new responsibilities, be proactive, and take initiative and ownership of grievances, solving matters when appropriate.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Reliable transportation, and ability to work a flexible schedule.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Language Skills

The individual must have strong written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization.

Valid Driver’s License and State mandated vehicle insurance.

Availability

Boat Monitors are seasonal, part-time positions and will work up to 29 hours per week; the schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
