FirstService Residential is seeking an HOA experienced General Manager to join our team in overseeing community operations at Val Vista Lakes, here in beautiful Gilbert, Arizona! HOA experience is required for this position as this is a large master plan community and you'll be working alongside the Board of Directors.

 

Job Summary:

Performs functions to manage, direct, oversee, and provide top-tier leadership along with exceptional customer service. Ensures the property is maintained and operated in accordance with company objectives and facilitates solutions between communities and internal staff guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies.

 

This is an in-office position as we are currently not operating remotely.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibility:

The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification. Not all duties assigned to every position are included, nor is it expected that all positions will be assigned every duty.

 

  • Collaborate with Regional Director to develop goals and communicate established goals. Ensure the goals and needs of the property, company and its customers are consistently met.
  • Manage the on-going quality control of a community to ensure quality resident service is delivered.
  • Partnering and maintaining a relationship with Supervisor, Board of Directors, & internal departments to develop and lead the integration of new programs or services on site.
  • Recommend and manage the budget for the functional area of responsibility. Monitor expenses, initiate cost reduction programs, and negotiate prices with vendors. Ensure property expenses are maintained within budget and submits invoices and monthly variance reports.
  • Ensures all contractual obligations are met along with maintaining knowledge and understanding of contracts between the association, vendors, and FirstService Residential.
  • Conduct site inspections regularly. Identify deficiencies and provide recommendations and action plans in order to improve the property. Process and manage violations and close them out regularly.
  • Interview, select, and train assigned staff. Prioritize and delegate workload as necessary by assigning work staff’s schedules to ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in rules, statutes or regulations and communicate changes to staff. Direct training of staff when new procedures are required to comply with changes.
  • Conduct periodic safety meetings and ensure staff is trained and educated on safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and communications along with ensuring all maintenance logs and emergency procedures logs are all up-to-date.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards and safety protocols.
  • Always conduct business with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. This includes any range of special projects, tasks, or other related duties.

 

Education, Experience, & Certifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field from an accredited college or university, OR three (3) years’ experience in Property Operations, Hospitality or Construction; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

CMCA Certification a PLUS!

 

Physical Requirements & Working Environment:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit and/ or stand for extended periods of time. Property walks may occur which includes lengthy walks on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability work in-office, as we do not currently offer remote work.
