Join our Team! Leland Management is seeking a part-time (24 hours per week and fill-in when needed) Gate Attendant in the Ocala area. Job Summary: Work together as a team to foster a good work environment to provide excellent customer service to residents, vendors, and guests while implementing policies and procedures as established by the Country Club of Ocala Property Owners Association, Inc. (CCO POA)
Essential Functions
- Report to work at least 5 minutes early to communicate existing conditions with other guards and to review the Daily Log to be alerted to potential problems and upcoming events
- Appropriately greet and interact with residents, vendors, and guests
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of residents, visitors, and other persons to enhance security of the community
- Answer gate phone and appropriately respond to service calls and complaints
- Process vendors and guests by verifying identification & enforcing rules and regulations
- Maintain a Daily Log to in a bound notebook to record and keep track of daily events to be scanned to property management at the end of every shift
- Contact and cooperate with law enforcement agencies and fire department in case of an emergency such as fire or of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences
- Prepare “Incident Reports” documenting unusual activities, irregularities such as presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences
- Monitor work performance of gate staff by conducting unannounced visits to gate at least one time per week
- Reports to management weekly and offer suggestions for improving gate and gate operations
- Wear officially approved uniform and comply with established grooming standards
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Good critical thinking skills to quickly observe a situation and make the appropriate response
- Must have a valid driver’s license, no criminal record and pass a drug test
- Position requires extended standing and walking in all types of weather
- Must be mentally alert, emotionally stable, and physically fit
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Have basic computer skills: typing, scanning, email, print, and operate copier
- Must show good judgment and common sense with the ability to understand and consistently follow established policy and guidelines
- Must have good interpretation and communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with all parties involved and with the daily operations of the gate
- Must be willing to enforce rules and follow procedures
