Job Description

The Director of Field Services will be responsible for managing the maintenance and construction department. They are to lead the oversight and administrative management of clients' large-scale construction projects. The Director will work with Boards of Directors, homeowners, managers, administrators, third-party vendors, and partner banks. The department adds value to our clients' relationships and provides increased revenue to the bottom line. The Director Operates with significant independence and minimal supervision.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: promote and sell the use of Project Services department at profitable margins to community managers and clients, match budget goals
  • Client retention: act as an additional relationship manager to clients, extend the relationship and provide value add to clients to increase branch appreciation
  • Be the "first provider" on key large-scale projects, enter into a contract with the client before the Construction Manager, lenders, or vendors are selected (or RFPs submitted)
  • Act as guide and expert to Board of Directors through project planning, vendor selection, and project execution; attend meetings, attend site inspections, produce status reports, communicate with homeowners, and oversee administrative and project management staff to facilitate project and promote position as an expert
  • Build department structure, tools, templates, and team members for long term growth and capture of all client projects
  • Ensures assigned projects are completed per the client’s expectations; including reasonable deadlines, clear bills, quality communication, and professional behavior of crews
  • Manages projects and project manager(s) to ensure successful completion of assigned projects
  • Manages and develops staff
  • Act as communication liaison between all interested parties in any given project (including Board, homeowners, vendors, and community managers)
  • Perform on-site job inspections, status checks, and meetings with necessary parties
  • Project oversight: attend client meetings to discuss the project status, present planning and status updates
  • Monitors progress of the project, provide financial control, and ensure the quality of the project
  • Support client's financial needs by setting project budgets, planning for special assessments or lending, and help facilitate owner outreach to facilitate funding needs and public opinion
  • Create and manage project reports that clearly communicate project status to clients
  • Oversight of administrative team that supports each project
  • Identify at-risk clients and support retention efforts through value-added services
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 5 – 7 years of directly related or closely related experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) at a proficient level
  • Knowledge of typical business correspondence (grammar, structure, punctuation, spelling, etc.) at a proficient level
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques at a proficient level
  • Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.)
  • Professional customer service skills
  • Project management at an expert level
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented and a team player
  • Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level
  • Time management and time-critical prioritization skills
