This position is responsible for the maintenance of a large common area located in an HOA. The position is located at Lansbrook Master Association.

The Ground Superintendent also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Lansbrook Master. He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills as a representative of Lansbrook Master Association Service as it relates to this function. This includes working interdepartmentally, as well as, with the Board of Directors and residents.

 

Lansbrook is one of Tampa Bays finest neighborhoods. It includes 21 neighborhoods with their own HOA, and 1800 homes. The common grounds of the association include 2 parks and 10+ miles of landscaped roadways.

 

(May include some or all of the following as applicable)

 

  • The Grounds Superintendent is responsible for organizing and directing daily activities of the operation and maintenance of a large common ground in an HOA including two parks. Responsible for grass and plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, personnel management, scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems and pesticide applications, preparing and adhering to annual operating budgets and developing initiatives for constant improvement of the common grounds.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Scheduling and directing the daily activities of the maintenance staff.
  • Care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, and wetlands on the facility grounds.
  • Monitoring the water usage tracking plan and irrigation systems and provides monthly reporting.
  • Supervising, training subordinates, and participating in the application and recording of fertilizers and pesticides on the grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Adjusts/repairs the irrigation system, pipes, and irrigation heads as needed.
  • May instruct others in minor irrigation repairs.
  • Performs other general grounds keeping and maintenance duties as needed.
  • Assists in adhering to the operating budgets.
  • Follow all policies and procedures in a strict manner and require the same from the rest of the staff.
  • Further his/her continued development by participating in appropriate seminars and conferences as approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Trains employees to OSHA standards.

Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses:

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred.

 

Required to have or be willing to obtain within 6 months:

  • Limited Lawn and Ornamental
  • Ornamental and Turf
  • Fertilizer
  • Limited Commercial Landscape Maintenance License (Round-up license)

 

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Golf course superintendent experience is Required. Knowledge in welding and large mower equipment mechanics. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures.

 

Computer literacy:

  • Basic command of computer hardware/software is required.

 

Language requirements:

  • Spanish is preferred, but not required.

 

Travel and availability requirements:

  • Ability to respond to emergencies and callouts in a timely manner.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time. Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain). Reach with hands and arms. Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word.
  • Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property as required to meet the job functions; complete all required forms.

Working Conditions:
