Job Description

The Dock Master 2 provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle Group.  He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service as it relates to this function. This includes working interdepartmentally, as well as, with our external customers.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervises Marina personnel in the operations of the Marina to include  related duties such as marina reservations, securing boats to docks, connecting and monitoring utility services (power and water ) hurricane preparedness,
2. Provides the highest level of customer and guest services, expedites any and all requests from vessels.

  • Can operate forklift and the placement of vessels within the dry stack system.
  • Can work with administrative personnel in the placement of reservations within Marina
  • Routinely operates, motor and water vehicles and other various mechanized equipment
    6. Carries out routine cleaning duties that meet established quality standards for all marina related operations; insures the recognized standards are maintained and that quality, and delivery commitments are met
    6. Assists refueling vessels when required at the fuel dock, ensures safe fueling procedures
    7. Maintains a friendly, professional working relationship with co-workers, members, guests and vendors.
    8. Supervises the cleaning of restrooms, docks, walkways, equipment and all other areas of the marina
    9. Demonstrates safe work habits at all times, including the proper care and use of all tools, equipment, vehicles, hazardous materials, and observes all established health and safety regulations.

    10. Provides safe disposal of all waste material.
    11. All other duties as assigned by management

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    1. Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets

    4. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers
    5. Adaptable to a fast-paced environment
    6. Some knowledge of marina operations and can train others in them
    7. Effective communicator who can collaborate with teammates and guests
    8. Ability to organize and prioritize work
    9. Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season;
  • Must be certified to operate Forklift.
  • Must be certified in all marina safety operations.

 

Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses:

High school diploma or equivalency required.

Fork Lift Certification

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

Three (3) to four (4) years of supervisory experience as a Dock Hand or similar position required.

Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Computer literacy:

Intermediate command of computer hardware/software is required; specifically, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

Language requirements:

Multiple language fluency may be required or preferred, depending on community. Ability to work extended hours and weekends if required.

Physical  Requirements:

Ability to lift 50lbs. following appropriate safety procedures:  Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time. Crawl in small and tight spaces. Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain). Walk and climb stairs. Handle, grasp, feel objects and equipment. Reach with hands and arms. Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written. Ability to quickly and easily navigate property/buildings are required to meet the job functions. Repeat various motions with wrists, hands and fingers. Ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms. Driving when necessary (may be required to possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.) Ability to climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 12-16 ft).

Working Conditions:

Work will be divided between indoor and outdoor work.  The proportion of indoor to outdoor work will fluctuate.  May be exposed to weather conditions such as heat, cold or rain while working outdoors.
