Director of Technical Accounting and Corporate Finance Transformation

Job Responsibilities

• Support the Controller in executing and improving certain aspects of the Month End Close process. This may include reviewing and approving journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and/or generating monthly financials and answering questions about financial variances
• Assist with managing the monthly consolidation and financial reporting processes across all entities within RM family of businesses. This activity may include leading an effort to automate the monthly consolidation process through the implementation and build-out of a new reporting tool.
• Manage the integration and onboarding of additional entities joining the RM family of businesses, including transition of the entities onto RealManage’s accounting platform and taking over their corporate accounting responsibilities
• Perform purchase accounting for acquisitions.
• Audit / compile opening balance sheets for working capital adjustments
• Research various technical accounting topics and perform technical accounting as necessary.
• Work with external financial auditors and other one-off financial related audits, serving as a principal point of contact.
• Other project-based tasks as assigned by the leadership team
• Improve internal controls within the Controller’s area
• Participate in process improvement initiatives, including process mapping with a goal of reducing the days to close and report
• Plus other work related tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher with a major in Accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience including experience in the full month end close process and working with external auditors
• 3+ years in public accounting
• Highly supportive and motivated.

• Advanced MS Excel and computer skills
• Attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines
• Sound accounting knowledge
• Willingness to dive into complex situations quickly
• Prior experience supporting multiple entity highly acquisitive corporations or Big 4 Accounting Firm audit service line strongly preferred
• Prior people management experience preferred, but will consider a star performer that has demonstrated success

Pay and Benefits

$125,000 to $150,000, depending on education and experience.
