Job Summary

 

Perform functions to manage the Security and Valet operations and collaborate with properties to develop standardized procedures, making decisions based on conclusions where there is little precedent.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as subject matter expert on all Security and Valet matters, while maintaining standards of excellence for processes and methods. Collaborate with Community Association Managers and internal staff to develop goals and to standardize, set up and implement procedures. Establish and maintain open communication with properties to ensure the goals and needs of the property, company and its customers are consistently met. Support the planning and strategic initiatives with respect to Security and Valet service operations.
  • Conduct quality assurance visits to properties. Make observations and evaluate effectiveness in the Security and Valet areas and collect and present data for Management. Identify current and possible issues, inconsistencies and vulnerabilities. Suggest appropriate corrective procedures and action plans to minimize physical hazards and unsafe work practices.
  • Create, administer and distribute property security audits and checklists.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and on-going training and ensure associates are aware of and comply with company and property regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions and deadlines. Develop and maintain training materials.
  • Identify potential suppliers and conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers for security needs. Gather and analyze price proposals and negotiate prices with vendors. Build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Manage the startup process of new properties, including managing the security and valet operations. Ensure staff is aware of and comply with company and customer regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Contribute to the documentation of Standard Operating Procedure and maintain existing procedures.
  • Participate in the budget process as it relates to assigned area of responsibility and ensure department expenses are maintained within budget. Provide input in the annual budget planning as needed.

 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
  • May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.

No supervisory responsibilities.

 

Education & Experience

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Security or Hospitality or related field from an accredited college or university, and five to seven years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. State of Florida MB License is required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate, negotiate and provide guidance to all associate levels and management.
  • Strong proficiency developing and delivering presentations.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Ability to adapt to different situations and environments.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and callouts in a timely manner.
  • Must have strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook. Proficiency researching the Internet.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently. Must be self-driven with the ability to identify, plan and prioritize business opportunities.
  • Ability to learn and possess knowledge of multi-building operations.
  • Ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

 

Tools & Equipment Used

 

Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment.

 

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

 

This position works under usual office conditions. The associate is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Travel

 

Work may involve some driving/traveling to properties.
