The Director identifies and implements new systems and processes that improve accuracy and reduce cycle times. The department consists of three managers and 15+ degreed accountants who are onshore and offshore.

Job Description
The Director of Operations Accounting is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely completion of the monthly close in accordance with US GAAP. The Director identifies and implements new systems and processes that improve accuracy and reduce cycle times. The department consists of three managers and 15+ degreed accountants who are onshore and offshore.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the monthly close process that ensures timely and accurate reporting of financial information in accordance with US GAAP with focus on continuous improvement
- Oversee the proper reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including the resolution of issues/outstanding items
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of recurring and ad-hoc analyses
- Interact and collaborate closely with senior staff and other internal clients to update financial information, reports and analysis
- Oversee the timely completion of information requests from external auditors
- Proactively identify and implement systems and process improvements that increases accuracy and reduces cycle times, especially related to the monthly close
- Manage the daily activities of the accounting department
- Hire, train, develop, mentor and direct high-performing team members in a manner that promotes trust and collaboration and improves employee retention
- Demonstrate leadership and management in a manner that that positively motivates and supports company values, policies and ethical procedures of the accounting profession
- Create an environment that allows for creativity and fosters independent thinking
- Proactively establish priorities and ensure consistent and timely follow through
- Develop, implement and improve internal controls, policies and procedures
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player that works well in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically in fast-paced environments
- Able to clearly communicate difficult accounting issues
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.)
- Demonstrated proficiency in typical business correspondence (grammar, structure, punctuation, spelling, etc.)
- Confidentiality and discretion in the performance of all duties and responsibilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with Power Query, Microsoft D365 and OneStream a plus
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Masters Degree preferred
- At least 10 years of directly related or closely related accounting experience
- At least 7 years of managerial experience of large team
- Managerial experience of offshore staff preferred
- CPA strongly preferred
- Limited travel may be required
- Currently hybrid with minimum of 3 days in office per week; subject to change
- Overtime required
